Photo c1900 courtesy Fish Hoek Valley Museum

There are two historical barns on the Route namely in Fish Hoek and at Kommetjie (Imhoff Farm). Fish Hoek’s barn, probably built in the early 1800s is seen in the photo opposite. The barn was later converted into two cottages having at one time been holiday accommodation (named Mountain View). The barn has the distinction of being one of the two oldest buildings in Fish Hoek, the other being the stable which features in the foreground of the photograph. The cottages are today located in Cottage Lane and are not open to the public.
