HISTORY

Fish Hoek Station was initially 100m south of the

present site and was a wooden structure in 1890.

The station moved to its present site in 1919 and

boasted three platforms, a water tower and a

turntable.  The gabled building was opened in 1927.

The station is 9 feet above sea level (although both

subways are below sea level).

Unlike Kalk Bay and Muizenberg Stations, no

fire places exist – both have been removed and,

the Station Master did not live on site.
