BACKGROUND

PUBLICITY

In April 2009 we reached out to the High Schools by

Clem SunterMuizenberg 15 April 2009

inviting them to the Clem Sunter Show sponsored

by G. J. Elliott and Associates Chartered

Accountants (now Hudson Associates) and, the

Beatles musical show at The Masque Theatre

“All You Need Is Love”.

The schools where also sponsored by

Kalky’s Fish &  Chips of Kalk Bay and

Shearwater Adventures of Victoria Falls.

At Clem’s talk the Izivunguvungu Brass Band

Love” – Sponsored by Fine & Country Fish Hoek -

Snacks were provided by Pick ‘n Pay Fish Hoek

Muizenberg 28 April 2009

and pens were sponsored by Key Stationers.

At the Masque Theatre, the  uniformed

Simon’s Town Pharmacy ladies handled (as a

promotion) the meet & greet, tickets and

ushering. Many of their regular customers

were taken by surprise.

Lesley Rochat then of The SOS Shark Centre also

spoke at Clem’s talk and this led to Muizenberg

High School adopting the centre under the

stewardship of Deputy Principal Leoni

Jacobsen who attended the event.

Flowing from this will be a series of joint

conservation oriented events with various schools,

the first of which occurred on Wednesday

follow progress.

More outreach events are planned, specifically

a thematic philately project (thematic

philately is known as The Art Of Philately).

In 2010 we launched our holiday and educational

programme and on 4 August entertained three high

Schools at Clem Sunter’s talk – Unpacking The

Aftermath.

We will also be working with Metrorail Tourism’s

Whales By Rail educationals at each destination.

From 2011 we will be promoting and working with

the Empowerment Through Education Trust .
